Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PromptLuv ("PromptLuv", "we", "us") handles your information when you use the PromptLuv app and website. It should be read together with our Terms of Use.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account: your email address or Sign in with Apple identifier.
• Profile: your name, your age (worked out from the date of birth you enter; we don't store the date itself), gender, who you'd like to see, age range and distance preferences, photos, bio, interests and what you're looking for.
• What you do in the app: likes, passes, matches, reactions, prompt answers, Date Deck and Today's Vibe answers, messages, gifts, streaks, and reports or blocks you make.
• Cash outs: if you cash out gift earnings, the PayPal email you enter and a record of each cash out. We may ask for tax information (for example, a US W-9) where the law requires it.
• Support: anything you send us when you contact support.

Information collected automatically

• Approximate location: if you allow location access, we use your phone's location to show people near you. We round it to about 1 km (0.6 miles) on your phone before it's sent to us, and we save a city label (for example, "Atlanta, GA"). Other people never see your coordinates — only your city and an approximate distance. Location is optional; you can turn it off in your phone's settings at any time.
• Notifications: if you allow notifications, a push token that lets us send them to your device.
• Basic technical information needed to run and secure the service, such as when you sign in and whether a notification was delivered.

Purchases

Communication Passes and Sparks are bought through the Apple App Store. Apple handles your payment; we never see your card details. We receive a record of the purchase (what was bought, when, and its status) through Apple and our purchase provider, RevenueCat, so we can give you what you paid for.

2. How we use your information

• to create and run your account and show your profile to potential matches;
• to suggest people based on your preferences, their preferences and distance;
• to deliver prompts, messages, gifts, Date Deck cards and notifications;
• to provide Passes, Sparks, chat unlocks, gift earnings and cash outs;
• to keep PromptLuv safe: reviewing reports, enforcing blocks, preventing contact information in public profiles, and detecting fraud, spam and abuse (including refund abuse);
• to answer your questions and send important service messages;
• to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

3. What other people can see

• Anyone using PromptLuv may see your public profile: name, age, gender, photos, bio, interests, what you're looking for, your city and approximate distance, whether you're verified or have a Pass, and your Today's Vibe answer for that day.
• Your matches also see your prompt answers, messages and gifts you send them, and your Date Deck answers once they've answered the same card.
• People you like see that someone liked them and can see your profile in their likes.
• We never show your email, exact location, balances or cash-out details to other users.
• If you block someone, they can no longer see or contact you. Reports are private — the person you report isn't told who reported them.

4. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We share it only:

• With service providers who run parts of PromptLuv for us and may use it only for that purpose: Supabase (database, file storage and hosting), Apple (App Store purchases and Sign in with Apple), RevenueCat (purchase records), Expo (delivering push notifications), PayPal (sending cash outs) and Vercel (our website).
• With Apple for refunds: if you ask Apple for a refund of an in-app purchase, we may share information about the purchase and how it was used (for example, whether the Sparks were spent) so Apple can decide your request.
• For safety and the law: when we believe in good faith it's required by law or needed to protect someone's safety, to investigate fraud or abuse, or to enforce our Terms.
• In a business transfer: if PromptLuv is merged or sold, your information may move to the new owner, who must follow this policy.

5. How long we keep information

• We keep your information while your account is open.
• When you delete your account, we delete your profile, photos, matches, messages and activity. Messages and gifts you sent to others are removed along with your account.
• We may keep limited records where the law requires it (for example, tax and payment records for cash outs) or to prevent fraud and repeat abuse, and only for as long as needed.

6. Your choices and rights

• Edit your profile and Discovery settings any time in the app.
• Location and notifications can be turned off in your phone's settings.
• Block or report anyone from their profile or your conversation.
• Delete your account in Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account. This is permanent. If you have a Communication Pass, cancel it too (Profile → Settings → Manage or cancel my Pass) so Apple doesn't charge you again.
• Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your information, or to object to some uses. To make a request, contact us through our Support page. We'll verify it's you before acting on the request.

7. Security

We protect your information with access controls, encryption in transit, and rules that limit who can read what (for example, other users can't read your private fields). No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and report anything suspicious.

8. Adults only

PromptLuv is only for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 is using PromptLuv, please report their profile or contact us and we'll remove it.

9. Where your information is processed

PromptLuv is operated from the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By using PromptLuv, you understand your information will be processed there.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as PromptLuv changes. If the changes are important, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
